Jacknife Inc. brings three design agencies under one roof
"Jacknife focuses on powerful design that offers the unique opportunity to integrate all of our design services - from branding, product design, environments, digital, and beyond," said Mikey Richardson, creative partner at Jacknife and former principal at AmoebaCorp, in a released statement. "Our customers can receive the benefit of truly holistic thinking regardless of project scope."
With the three companies bringing their specialties to the table, Jacknife will approach design projects as a cohesive entity, from creating a new brand to revamping an existing one.
Before Jacknife, Richardson and Mike Kelar founded AmoebaCorp in 1994, and have designed for clients such as Mondolez, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and Wind Mobile. Since 2003, Matt Hexemer of Apparatus Inc. has being working in industrial design for clients such as Kobo, Red Bull, Salomon and more. Oxygen Design Agency, co-founded by Marawan El-Asfahani, has supported a wide range of clients including big name companies Thomson Reuters, SickKids Foundation and Adidas Global.
The Jacknife team is already planning future service expansion. Jacknife will develop its own products, in addition to providing branding and design services to company products.
“It stands to reason that if we have the team assembled to strategize, create and take to market products for our clientele, we can certainly do it for ourselves too,” said Hexemer, creative partner and former principal at Apparatus, in the release. “That’s something we’re really excited about.”
