It’s not every day a design firm launches a personal rebrand, so it was a pleasant surprise to see today’s reveal of the refreshed branding and redesigned website for Bruce Mau Design.
The launch comes after what the company says were “several months of reflection, exploration, design and hard work.”
The new all lowercase identity reflects the minimalist nature of the entire new website. Simple black and white, san serif navigational type, but very photo heavy content with very readable descriptive serif text revealed on the images upon roll over.
“With our reinvigorated brand and site, we wanted to highlight our evolution as a design firm, while honoring our past, and showcasing our continued commitment to bringing vision and inspiration to brands,” notes the company in a release.
“Our goal – to create a platform that celebrates world-class design, our best-in-class clients, and our global team of talent.”
The company posted the news on its Facebook page.
Recognized internationally, Bruce Mau Design (BMD) was founded in Toronto by Bruce Mau in 1985. A majority stake of the multi-disciplinary design firm was acquired by MDC Partners in June 2004. Bruce Mau left the firm in 2010 to focus on The Massive Change Network he established in Chicago.
