What is the Certified Marketing Specialist™ Program?
To earn your Certified Marketing Specialist™ Designation, you must complete:
- Four marketing certificate courses.
- One mandatory marketing math course.
- One exam.
The courses may be taken in any order. Some courses assume base knowledge so students are advised to read course descriptions and requirements carefully to determine the order best suited to them personally.
Due to the intense nature of the work, taking one course at a time is recommended. Students typically complete the program in nine months to two years. However, you may take as much time as needed to finish the work – CMA currently sets no time limits for completion.
The program caters to marketing professionals with one to three years of experience building skills in the field. Employment in a marketing-related role is assumed. An employer may pay for the courses if the program benefits an employee regardless of his or her job role.
