About the So(cial) Good Design Awards
Quality design has the power to inspire and incite change. Now more than ever, the power of creative design matters and can lead to significant and positive transformation in the world. The Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) is calling on designers to submit projects to the So(cial) Good Design Awards.
The So(cial) Good Design Awards aim to recognize projects which support social change. Entries must demonstrate creative and original solutions and use of resources. Projects should exhibit graceful and stylish concepts which make imaginative use of space, typography and integrate visual elements in a complementary and engaging manner.
Entries to the So(cial) Good Design Awards are broken into four categories based on the client behind the communications based project.
- Not-For-Profit Client-Initiated Projects.
These are projects in which the client is a not-for-profit organization.
- For-Profit Client-Initiated Projects.
In this category the for-profit client can have an existing social mission integrated into their business, or the client can develop an initiative for social change.
- Government-Initiated Projects.
For this category the designer can work internally or externally to the client government agency or department.
- Designer-Driven Projects.
Any communications-based project initiated by a designer to raise awareness around a cause with no client backing the work.
The jury is comprised on a diverse group of both designers and clients. This international group includes professionals across a variety of design related fields with diverse experience and knowledge.
Eligible projects can be in any form and must have been completed by January 1, 2012. Early-bird entries are due February 16, 2018 while the final deadline for entries is March 2, 2018. The cost per entry for professional members is $45, $70 for non-members, $15 for student RGD and student GDC members. RGD team members receive three free entries.
