TORONTO—Can’t make it to San Francisco this Saturday for Compostmodern 09? No problem. The Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario is holding a satellite event of the conference a month later in Toronto.
The San Francisco chapter of AIGA and the AIGA Center for Sustainable Design is presenting this second annual green design event to encourage designers, manufacturers and business leaders to explore a range of design thinking necessary to create a socially and ecologically responsible society.
An initiative of its new Sustainability Committee, RGD Ontario is hosting a satellite event with a recording of the presentations on March 21 at George Brown School of Design. Participants can sign up for a full or half day.
Speakers include Eames Demetrios of Eames Office, Saul Griffith of Makani Power, Allan Chochinov of Core 77, climate strategist Michel Gelobter, John Bielenberg and Pam Dorr of Project M and the HERO Housing Resource in Alabama, Emily Pilloton of Project H Design, and Autodesk Sustainable Design Program Manager Dawn Danby.
